Typical Applications for LiFePO4 Batteries
Overview of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Batteries
Bioenno Power offers a variety of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cells and battery packs for several applications. These batteries are superior compared to lead acid batteries because of their (1) high specific energy capacity, (2) long cycle life [~2000 cycles], (3) compact size, (4) light weight, (5) superior thermal and chemical stability, (6) enhanced safety, (7) improved cost performance, and (8) enhanced charge and discharge rates.
Applications
- Boats/Kayaks: Bioenno Power batteries offer tremendous advantages for powering small boats and kayak motors. LiFePo4 batteries are less than half the weight of traditional lead acid batteries and offer greatly enhanced cycle life which make them ideal for using them in small boats and kayak motors.
- Communications Equipment including Ham Radio: Many of our customers are using LiFePO4 batteries to replace lead acid and NiMh batteries for radio communications equipment including ham radio. The longevity and number of charge cycles have prompted many users to switch over to LiFePO4 technology. We have customers that are using our batteries for these applications. In addition, the batteries are less than half the weight of traditional lead acid batteries.
- E-Bikes / E-Scooters / Small Vehicles: Many of our customers are using LiFePO4 batteries for e-bikes/e-scooters to replace lead acid batteries. Because LiFePo4 batteries offers tremendous advantages including high specific capacity and greatly enhanced cycle life, and very low weight, these batteries are ideal for e-bike / e-scooter applications.
- Electric Golf Caddy: Bioenno Power LiFePO4 batteries can be used to power electric golf caddies which are used to carry golf clubs across golf courses. LiFePO4 batteries are less than half the weight of traditional lead acid batteries making them ideal for electric golf caddies, with tremendously enhanced cycle life.
- Energy Storage: LiFePO4 batteries when combined with converters and inverters can be used as an energy storage solution which can power many types of electrical loads in environments where there is no access to electricity. For example, many portable electronics can be charged using LiFePO4 batteries including laptops and smart phones. Many of our customers are using Bioenno Power LiFePO4 batteries in combination with inverters/converters for powering various electrical loads.
- General Purpose Equipment / Instrumentation: Bioenno Power batteries offer tremendous advantages for powering and charging various general purpose and instrumentation equipment. The general purpose equipment include audio amplifiers, cell phones, computers, portable projectors, etc. Instrumentation equipment includes various types of sensors used to monitor the environment.
- Solar: LiFePO4 batteries can be combined with a solar panel and solar controller. The solar panel can charge the LiFePO4 battery while at the same time provide power to an electrical load. Compared to lead acid batteries, Bioenno Power LiFePO4 batteries offer outstanding cycle life.
