The Bioenno Power BSP-80 model 80 Watt Foldable Solar Panel is a high output monocrystalline solar panel system designed for ease of use. The mid-range unit of the Bioenno Power high-power line, the BSP-80 offers increased power output versus our standard BSP-28 folding panel in a smaller and lighter form factor than our full power BSP-120 model 120 Watt solar panel while maintaining compatibility with Bioenno Power Packs. A Bioenno Power solar system offers clean and modulated output while being completely silent with no EMI/RFI (Electromagnetic Interference/Radio-Frequency Interference). And unlike traditional gasoline generators, sunlight is a bottomless fuel-source you don’t have to pay for. With a solar system, as long as you have sun you have electricity. Bioenno Power 12V/24V, 20A Solar Charge Controller (Model SC-122420JUD) is a versatile controller for use in solar systems with an integrated LCD display, that is designed to charge LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries (and AGM/SLA batteries)! This solar controller accepts either 12V/24V input from solar panels and can handle up to 20 Amps. Featuring our proprietary CC/CV (Constant Current/Constant Voltage) circuitry, the solar controller provides a regulated voltage output for charging 12V or 24V LiFePO4 (and AGM/SLA batteries). The solar controller also provides a regulated 12V or 24V output for electrical loads (depending on whether a 12V or 24V battery is used). Solar controllers are required for all solar systems in order to maintain a regulated output voltage to charge batteries and for maintaining a regulating output voltage for loads.
Please note that for any solar setup in which you are using a panel in conjunction with a battery and/or a load a solar charge controller is absolutely necessary. DO NOT plug a panel directly into your battery or your load!
This controller does not boost voltage from the solar panel, but instead will regulate a high panel voltage from 50V downwards.

To Charge AGM/SLA Batteries - Override Procedure
To charge AGM batteries, you have to setup an override in the controller as follows:
The solar controller has an override feature to charge LiFePO4, SLA and AGM batteries. Attach the battery first to the controller, then see below:
1) The 1st screen is the battery voltage also known as the "home" screen.
2) Push the left red button. The second screen is the float voltage of the solar panel to the battery (13.8VDC).
3) The 3rd screen is the charge voltage of the battery (14.4VDC).
4) The 4th screen is the regulated voltage to the load (12.6VDC)
5) Screen 5 is the cutoff voltage (10.8VDC)
6) Screen 6 is a timer screen that is not implemented
7) Screen 7 is the battery type. By default "b00" is for Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. To charge SLA/AGM batteries, hold the left button for 6 seconds, and the "b00" display will start flashing, then push the right button to change to "b01".
Screen 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are hard-coded (hard-programmed) -- there's nothing that you would change on those screens.
The Bioenno Power Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery Model BLF-1220A is a state-of-the-art 12V 20Ah battery. The BLF-1220A is the entry level unit of Bioenno Power's high-power 12V battery line designed for more stationary applications and higher power consumption portable electronics requiring a higher capacity and greater power output battery while demanding a battery which can reliably provide excellent performance over an extended service life. The battery has an integrated PCM (protection circuit module) which provides complete internal cell balancing, complete integrated protection along with integrated charge circuitry and boasts no EMI/RFI (Electromagnetic Interference/Radio-Frequency Interference) and is absolutely quiet! This unit has available a 110VAC/220 VAC AC-to-DC charger, that provides 4A, with a DC Plug. Please note that this battery should be charged using a LiFePO4 compatible charger, and not with a charger for SLA batteries.

General: I noticed the Max and Peak Continuous Discharge on the label may be different from the website and why?
The printed label may be rated to 1C Max Continuous or 2C peak. However, for some models of batteries including the BLF-1212A, BLF-1212AB, BLF-1212AS, BLF-1215A, BLF-1215AS, and BLF-1220A, 30 Amp and 40 Amp PCM/BMS boards have been installed. The de-rating on the label to 1C is mentioned to ensure the battery can deliver more than 2,000 to 3,000 cycles. However, rest assured these batteries can deliver the 23 Amps for your ham radio equipment which has a duty cycle of 20% transmit and 80% receive. If you operate continuous at the 2C discharge (with no duty cycle), the cycle life is a bit less to about 1,800 to 2,000 cycles instead of 2,000 to 3,000 cycles.
Bioenno Power offers a 14.6VDC, 4A AC-to-DC Charger for LiFePO4 batteries, Model BPC-1504DC, which uses a DC plug for charging LiFePO4 batteries. Please ensure that the LiFePO4 batteries include a PCM/BMS when using this particular charger.
